That would leave 6 teams to fill 8 Bowl slots and the GRB is the 7th pick. I could easily see Okie State winning a close game and missing the playoff and Michigan State moving in front of Baylor.

BYU might sell more tickets, which is what a bowl ultimately wants. TV partner wants eyeballs.
