I’m not sure what you are arguing. I pointed out why comparing passer ratings across eras doesn’t tell us much. To
repeat the example with a twist, imagine 30 years from now every QB in the NCAA has a rating above 200.
If BYU’s QB has the lowest rating in the NCAA at 200, then I wouldn’t say “wow, he had a much better season passing the ball then Jaren Hall did back in 2021.”
This year, Jaren showed that he is a good passer and very good runner who led us to one of our greatest seasons in history. There is no denying that.
But I would say Marc Wilson and Steve Young had better passing seasons than Jaren. I also think Johnny Unitas was a much better QB than David Carr, based on the same type of methodology.
