All of the things you guys are posting are the same things I thought.
But do people go to Vegas and Atlantic City and Macau? Humans like the gamble. There's excitement in chance as well.
I guess it's a question of why do you watch sports?
And the counter to that on some level is, because there is more chance involved your team has more chance to win, even if they're not the best.
The NFL has essentially tried to create the same kind of balanced scales through parity that soccer gets somewhat naturally. They want every team to have a chance going into every game. So they create all of these artificial barriers to try and create parity in the league.
The NFL is by far the most popular league in this country. It's not precisely the same. But the NFL is trying to create a game where on any given Sunday, any team can go in and win.
In soccer, that's not just any given Sunday. That's any given match. The best teams still rise to the top over the course of the season in general. But in any given match...
That fills stadiums. That draws viewers.
And when soccer haters tune into watch the BYU women play, they jump on the bandwagon even if they don't like to admit it...😏
