About 2 soccer games a year. I get the idea of “almost scoring” being exciting. It is the same with a pass to the end zone that gets tipped away. All sports have good plays that set up or lead to chances to score. Soccer is not unique in that.
As others have said the flopping makes the game intolerable. Someone gets touched and is writhing in pain only to arise after a penalty is awarded and lithely sprint 120 yards.
The lack of player substitution also is dumb. No real purpose. If I wanted to watch a few people run a marathon I would watch that. It has about as many dramatic moments as most soccer games
