I am with you. I actually despise most of these new political buzzwords..
microaggression, systemic, cisgender, gender fluid, gender gender gender, oppression, safe spaces....I could go on.

I remember the first time I was on campus at Portland State University and I was meeting with a Post-Doc student to collaborate on some research for a conference and her office was by the gay center which was accompanied by several designated safe spaces....I'd never actually seen it in person, but I decided to go and chill in a safe space for a little bit and I just kinda listened to the conversations going on around me. It took people like 20 minutes to introduce themselves and their orientations and identity and I literally heard someone express that what was just said or asked to be very offensive to them.

I felt like I was always walking on eggshells in that environment and I distinctly remember people telling me that they were offended by an honest question I asked on multiple occasions. I even remember at Utah State I ran into a racial studies professor from Missouri who started lecturing me about the microaggressions and ignorance of Mormon students in Logan towards minorities. I asked her if she was Mormon or if she has any experience as a Mormon...she thought that question was the most offensive question anyone has ever asked her and refused to speak with me just for asking that. This whole thing with all these buzzwords and using the proper pronouns and being offended and refusing to speak with someone for asking questions.....and making it a prominent part of the college campus and environment .... its just one of those thigns that makes me appreciate BYU even more....heaven forbid BYU ever gives in to this trend.
