The problem is that they are an outdated product and the "they work really hard" argument falls flat. It's the same argument that the WNBA makes about their players. Nobody is saying they don't try hard. The problem is that their results just aren't entertaining to most people.
A guy could go work really hard at cutting down a tree with an axe. Doesn't mean there's much value or that anyone is going to pay him to do that. There are much better ways of cutting down trees.
It reminds me of a line from "Christmas Vacation." After the initial failure of the Christmas lights, Clark's father-in-law mocks him and his daughter responds "he worked really hard, grandpa." To which he replies, "So do washing machines."
