This is especially true for people new in the work force who tend to focus on bottom line salary. What price do you put on being able to work when you want, being able to go to a kids game or play basketball during the afternoon.

If I had stayed working at my law firm, I would have made more total income, but there are a lot of days where I work 3 hours a day now and I still make a very comfortable income. I would not trade the flexibility, independence, and lighter work load for $300,000 more of added income.
