If you find something else that you enjoy or think will at least make more money so you can enjoy your life more, go for it. I am making a change for multiple reasons, but primarily I’m tired of working for a big company, tired of traveling for work, and tired of above average performance not translating into more money. Fortune 500 companies sound great to work for, until they decide in a pandemic a wage freeze and more work for less pay is a good thing and employees will stick around for the job security.

My trade off is now working close to home still home office, rarely overnight travel so home most nights, own my own company, ability to provide employment opportunities for my kids someday, and working in an industry that is booming and rewards hard work with money not a plaque with your name on it.
