Other than this year he has been an above average DC, and he isn't the only one who recruits. Kalani plays a big part in that too, but everybody was pretty excited when we resigned him last month, including me.
Bottom line for me is this, he has been more than adequate for a majority of the games he has coached. I would wager that more of the losses over the last 6 years have been on the offense not pulling their weight than the defense. This year was clearly the opposite. The defense really only held their own in the first three games, after that the offense is how and why we won.
Hopefully we have some better luck with injuries next year and see some better results.
