For example, I’m in charge of my company’s finance team. If my Controller dumps a problem on me as he describes, then yes, I would appreciate him giving me some possible solutions and might be annoyed if he didn’t. But if one of our GL accountants finds a problem that is way over his head, I’m usually just grateful that they were sharp enough to recognize that it was an issue and bring it to me attention.
