I’m a fan of sativa because it helps me think through things, but it sometimes feels like a stimulant. I think most people that get paranoid are using sativa. I don’t get the quite same therapeutic benefit from indica but it definitely mellows me out and I still get more therapeutic benefit than anything else I’ve tried. I think hybrids are a good mix of the two, but I know a lot of people that only use indica because it helps with their anxiety/depression in a better way for them. Sativa is definitely not great to help sleep or take the edge off, especially as an edible because they hit HARD. I understand wanting to avoid smoke in the lungs, but I would always recommend smoking or vaping for the first time or two. Edibles get you high from the THC initially, but there’s a second chemical that gets processed in your liver that adds a totally different high that is really gnarly if you’re not used to it. Smoking also easier to control because it hits you quickly so you know if you should take more or not. Edibles take so long to hit that if you take too much, you just have to deal with it until next time
