Kind of hard to explain but you basically transcend this life and society
It’s almost like you can view your depression/anxiety from an outside perspective which makes you realize the feelings and thoughts associated with depression/anxiety are just feelings and thoughts, not necessarily reality. That said, you also realize those thoughts and feelings are real thoughts and feelings, which doesn’t make you feel shame or weak that they have such a strong impact on your life. Basically it’s a nice balance of understanding the negative thoughts and feelings are made up in your brain but the effect is very real. It also makes you realize that everyone else is on their own journey and doing their best, which takes some pressure off of you to feel as good as everyone else appears to be feeling.
