I bought one at Lowes for $500 and installed it myself. Wasn’t too bad. Costco
also quoted me around $2900 or so.
Is your house already plumbed for a water softener?
I’d also question the value of water softeners. $2700 is a lot of money for something that is hardly necessary. You don’t really need them for anything. If taste is what matters you can get cheap ones for the kitchen faucet or fridge water.
