Cant you claim a life event change in order to drop your coverage?
My company allows that if a change of coverage is available. As long as your wife’s plan has a life event policy then it should be no problem.
I have looked into this with a foreign mission for me and my wife. It is considered a life event if other coverage is available.
Talk to your HR and her HR dept to ensure that this would be allowed
