Before this, my wife joined an “all you can eat gym,” with group fitness classes and convenient times. The instructors were just as good as orange theory. However, 50% of the time she planned to go she would just not go because “my back hurts,” or “I have cramps,” or whatever.
In one year of orange theory she hasn’t skipped a morning class once because we are too cheap to pay $12.
I wouldn’t call it a scam like another poster, but it is expensive and sometimes seems like a cult, but it works.
