Your primary retirement vehicle. From what you said in your case it's that, social security, and a pension (lucky you, as most of us will never get that).
There are a number of ways for a person in his 60s to have potentially built wealth over his lifetime beyond just owning their home. Perhaps there are reasons you didn't do that, but if so, it would sound like an excuse as you are accusing him of making. Not a great look.
