I'm going to get slammed (because I usually do when this comes up) but I've been
using toggle bolts on two tvs. One is a heavy plasma and the other is a much lighter LED. Both of them I have mounted directly into the sheetrock. Easy job to do. They haven't moved a millimeter in years. They work great and are engineered to hold the weight. Here's an example at Amazon but they sell them at Lowes and Home Depot too:
