This is an extreme take. The bonus structure impacts the men, nothing else
Yes that could be a fairly size-able bonus, if the US were to win the 2022 world cup (not gonna happen), they'd likely get somewhere in the 40-50 million range. Forcing the team to split that with women who had nothing to do with the victory would be a hard pill to swallow.

That said, hugely unlikely that's going to happen, and the US will simply get the basic bonus for making the WC, maybe a bit more. I haven't pulled the number together, but outside of really deep run in the WC, it's not going to be a monumental change.

I definitely do not agree with this new approach, as I think it's idiotic to go completely against all basic economics to try to be as woke as possible, but when it comes to an individual player at worst it'll probably be around 200-300k less than they'd get otherwise. I could be wrong, but even higher than that will probably not be enough to push someone towards another country.
