helps fill in the gap as to what was going on in the years between Revenge of the Sith and A New Hope (especially with regards to the aftermath of the fall of the Jedi and the rise of the Empire). It's also one of the things that made the Mandalorian so good in that it depects the power vacuum that existed when the Empire fell, etc.
