Pixar is struggling lately with original ideas
Many of their recent films have been sequels, and few of their original ideas have been successful.
Turning Red - Disney+ stinker
Soul - Disney+ meh
Luca - Disney+ meh
Onward - Disney+ meh and box office bomb
Coco - great movie and decent box office ($210M)
The Good Dinosaur - Box office bomb ($123M)
Inside Out - Big hit at $356M
Brave - Decent box office at $237M
Most of their success in the past 10 years has been with sequels, like Toy Story 4, Incredibles 2, Finding Dory, and Monsters University. Something has gone wrong in their creative process. It was once praised but now that system has derailed.

I wonder if Disney sabotaged the box office of its kids movies by running so many consecutive Pixar movies to Disney+
