I think the biggest thing is that nobody asked for this movie. And the marketing doesn’t even look like a kids movie either, really. Makes it look like some animated action movie for nostalgic adults for toy story.
Toy Story did come out in 1995. I could see some people who saw it as kids being drawn to it for nostalgia almost 30 years later.
