the culture would be too different and restrictive. I would be pressured into converting and LDS players would get priority.
One of my HS coaches was a BYU grad who guided me and my parents. He had more credibility than the coaches at the mid-west schools and southern schools that recruited me.
It took a while to get used to the culture. I was a willing participant in church related activities and some not so wholesome activities. I did not convert, one of three daughters did.
For me, I can’t say enough about the prestige BYU has afforded me.
