across the country from fans of the teams that are left out. I'm one that only has interest in watching the SEC/Big10 when BYU is either directly or indirectly impacted in the outcomes of the games via common opponents, rankings, etc.
If they break off and become their own P2, I personally wouldn't have any desire to watch or follow them. I'd just watch whatever BYU ends up affiliated with and the NFL. And I have to think that there will be millions of disenfranchised fans that would feel the same.
Between this power move and the outrageous state of the NIL bidding wars, college football is going to die. And the greed of the SEC and Big10 may ultimately come back to bite them when half the country no longer cares.
On another note, I wonder if BYU was smart enough and able to position themselves to recover in the case of the Big12 exploding, or the extremely unlikely event that they are invited elsewhere and need to leave the Big12 due to its being devalued that much further?
