It was a huge gamble, Houston is an amazing recruiting hot bed unfortunately
It’s a college and pro sports saturated market. Everyone is recruiting Houston and I doubt they stand much chance of consistent success.
There is a long track record of new conference affiliation and academic progress. It probably would have been easier to upgrade Boise’s academics over a decade than it would have been to gamble on Houston being anything but deadweight. Houston was a hard pass for me.
I would have stayed at 11.
