That would be a coincidence. It’s almost always the capacitor. I once had an AC fuse go out as well. Never a motor and never a motor and a capacitor at the same time.

Possibly dumb question. Are all capacitors the same? Or do you buy specific for your system?

Not the same, but you can just look at the cap on your system and search it up

There are 2 parts to most capacitors, the start and run sides. Both can work
