start back up again. Repair man mentioned it had a fail safe that had to reset for it to complete the circuit and get power again.

Not the same, but you can just look at the cap on your system and search it up

There are 2 parts to most capacitors, the start and run sides. Both can work

Check the capacitor first. AC guy might be trying to get one over on you.
