I read the article and it spoke nothing of anything but hockey.
Let me give you something scalable.
Your article talked about a 10 year $2 billion contract that the NHL is so proud of. In 2018-19 the Jordan Brand sold $3.1 billion worth of product. This of course does not take into account the rest of Nike which was an "off" brand before Jordan and became the pre-eminent brand to this day because of him. Basically Jordan made 150% more in one year from sales of his product than the NHL did in 10 years.
Do you see sports stars on commercials? Jordan wasn't the first, but he took it to an entirely new level.
Only fools think Lebron is a bigger GOAT than Jordan. Most who say it don't really believe it they just get paid more to hype up whatever it is they or their network are selling.
Jordan didn't spark a show about basketball. He literally made a show with just him and some cartoons which was the 10th highest grossing film of the year.
I'm not even sure what else to say if you didn't live through it. Jordan changed sports. The only one who has come close since has been Tiger Woods.
