They have been the low rung P5 conference for a while
Still much stronger than any G5 conference, but they haven't been nearly as strong as the other 4, especially when you combine basketball into the equation. Last year they ranked lower than a few G5 conferences, but seemed like an anomaly.
Last couple years have been especially bad for their conference. Not a good leadup for TV contract negotiations.
