Kobe has a good case for #1 over Jordan and James. Tougher to compare to the old
guys and to compare centers to guards. None of the centers could stop the really good guards, but neither could the guards stop the centers from posting up, they have different skill sets, so tougher to make a direct comparison.

But Kobe has the advantage over Jordan of earlier training in similar skills. They both have that advantage over Magic, who was a pioneer, but didn't perfect the stuff Jordan and Kobe had. At their primes, Kobe wins. James is enough of a different style and got refereed differently enough that comparisons are harder, but Kobe is better skills-wise. Lebron at times has been better at talking good players into playing with him, but that's not the same as actual individual basketball skill.
