After lookin into it, the style of d shouldn’t be a factor for injuries.
BYU ranked 59th in opponents plays per game and only averaged 31 minutes of opponent time of possession. So maybe they play an extra minute of game time out on the field but they aren’t playin more plays than most teams.

Those 50 or 60 'worse' DCs just might be better with BYU's resources too instead of on a G5 Sun Belt team.
