That's exactly the farce and P5 bias with the rankings

The CFP HAS to take P5 conference champions into consideration because they would be looked at as a laughing stock if they didn't. Strength of schedule is so inflated for the pac, it's funny to think the pac champ's sos was valued so high, when the actual conference was viewed as so weak.

So you are correct in they place too much emphasis on conference champs, just to make their "rankings" seem legit.
