Jackson ruined the Hobbit. It had a lot I great stuff, but too much extra garbage
The fan edits fix that mostly.
LOTR, on the other hand, was awesome. I have a few complaints, but overall they were true to Tolkien.
I hate the extra stuff with Faramir, for example, dragging Sam and Frodo to Osgiliath. Farmer was more honorable than that, and that was a big point.
I also hate the way Frodo sides so much with Gollum on the stairs, and sends Sam packing.
But, overall awesome, like I said.

This is a tough one. HBO totally botched the latter part of GoT. Amazon botched WoT. Both have awesome shows.
