I had sudden deafness in my left ear a few years ago. The doctor said that in

his experience getting me in the hyperbaric chamber within a couple of days had the highest success rate of returning my hearing. The insurance wouldn't pay for it until I tried a steroid treatment for 2 weeks first. The steroids did nothing and I had to wait a few more days before the hyperbaric chamber was approved.

Now, after the initial steroid treatment, the hyperbaric chamber, steroid shots through my eardrum and an ear surgery (to repair damage done by the steroid shots), I'm still deaf in my left ear.
