Not a dumb question. I have done 2 of them, I never wrapped and preferred that

completed to wrapping. Get more bark. Then I double wrap in foil and stick in cooler.

Last time we froze it and took it camping and had it sandwiches was still really good.

I have done on both pellet and offset. Pellet was easy, slept all night and checked in the morning.
