I assume there is at least tacit approval of the basic concept defense and I'm sure he gives input and influence on what the defense should be doing but doubt he's doing what KW does at Utah where he has a D coordinator but KW is very hands on. Being too hands on can be a detriment and turn into micro management. Im guessing KW does this with his O coordinator and fires them almost every year and doesn't give them a lot of autonomy. We lucked out he that fired Arod and were able to pick him up.
