All-American
UofU and USU over BYU-I/UVU easily
SUU over BYU-I and essentially equal with UVU.
UVU and BYU-I really are not great schools.

Toss up between UVU and BYU-I. Local state school a distant 3rd.

This is true. But I was ranking it strictly from a social perspective.

Why the UVU love?

Love is a strong word. This is a question that only exists when compromises

At this point you can go to UVU, live in Provo with BYU students, go to a “BYU” YSA ward, attend BYU events

Ah, so we're not talking about quality education. We're just talking about the "experience"...

Is UVU's education inferior to BYU-I's?
garyfan
9/20/22 11:32am
I mean, none of those options (outside of all the possible state schools) are good schools, so sure.

If you can't get into BYU (70% acceptance rate and the 89th ranked college), then school experience is probably more

UVU is a local state school, not a backup plan for out-of-state kids

I know lots of out-of-state kids who have gone to UVU, and for every single one

How long do you have to live in Utah before they are no longer charged
StantonMac
9/20/22 11:43am
A year if you're applying for residency. If you're from the western US you can do WUE.
Big Red Thunder

Usually a full year, but there are ways around that.

This is correct. There are things that UVU can do for students to make it more affordable.

Most aren’t charged out if state. In state tuition ‘scholarship’ is pretty easy
