I'd bet that if we looked at total injuries from a typical P5 team starting at fall camp to today that we'd find that
we have a normal amount of injuries.
I think we notice it more at BYU because the gap between our starter's abilities and the "next guy up's" abilities is larger than is typical for a P5 school (and because it's our team and we're more familiar with all of the players).
