True but it’s also often a defense that we agreed in principle but we all agreed
We would follow up with a contract and therefore the agreement was never final until signed. It’s true that in many contexts you don’t need a written contract. But when working with a written contract back and forth it’s usually understood it’s not final until the contract is signed by both sides therefore limiting the argument to some extent that there was an agreement absent signatures
