I agree we should have won 54-10, but I lay that at the feet of the offense.
1st drive was bad against us, but we got up on them 14-7 quick enough with a pick 6. When the offense can't stay on the field the defense is going to get tired and it is hard to make those adjustments. Still, basically held USU to a field goal in meaningful time in the second halff and they only got that because we gave them such great field position on the kickoff.
Defense got two turnovers in the first half including a pick six. Offense needs to do their part. I'm laying our struggles this game squarely with the offense.
If we had kept piling on points we would have broken their wills earlier and run away with that game.
