I'd probably encourage my kid to go to Stanford if they had the choice. Yes,

you have to deal with a lot of liberal shenanigans at Stanford, but, let's be honest, you have to deal with a lot of Mormon shenanigans at BYU (dress and grooming standards, pharisaical honor code enforcement, etc).

And yes, the Stanford degree is better.
