I was conversing with some Utah fans on a Utah fan site. We were discussing basketball - and they expressed their disgust at how dirty Mark Pope is in his recruiting practices. In particular, they talked about him picking up players who had originally committed elsewhere or who had decided to transfer and were in the portal. And it was their insistence that NO kid goes to the portal without first having been contacted by a dirty coach like Pope - who feels the kid out as far as willingness to transfer.
These Utah fans assured me - right before suspending me from the site for several months for asking what evidence they have - that Utah would NEVER accept a transfer like that.
Now - you might think "but we're talking about football. That was basketball you were discussing."
You are correct - except the evidence they used to prove Utah would not take a transfer like that was the story of a BYU player reaching out to Ron McBride and asking McBride about the chances of making a transfer to the U. And McBride told that kid "you stay where you are. You're better off sticking it out and working with your coaches to see what you can do to get more playing time there."
And that's just the way Utah feels about transfers. They would NEVER take a kid from another school. Only dirty cheating NCAA violating coaches do that.
At least that's what Utah fans tell me. So if Holker ends up at the U, I guess you'll know that KW is a dirty cheating NCAA rule violating coach.
