surely has nothing to do with the defensive scheme and strategy - right!? All of the Tuiaki and Lamb haters seem to give Kalani a complete pass, as if he has nothing to do with the defense. The negativity and diatribes against Tuiaki and now Lamb by some, are really tiresome. Especially, with no proven replacements.

I am frustrated with the defense. I go crazy with the long and sustained drives by opponents, but it seems pretty clear, our D-Linemen are just not good enough, deep enough, and healthy enough. We are not able to control the line of scrimmage when we are on defense without selling out. To me the bigger indictment is with RECRUITING the right D-Line talent and depth. I indict the coaches more for that then actual scheme, and that goes to the head coach as well, who was supposed to remedy that issue when he came in. I don’t know what other scheme we run with the current D-Line that we have. Outside of Batty, not the most heralded group, for the most part. Maybe scheme contributes to the poor recruiting, but I am not sure.

Beyond that, the last two plus seasons, we have been winning! It has been fun. Yes, we need to get better to win even more and to compete with the big boys, but let’s not “fix” the wrong thing here.

I apologize to those who need to rail and rage for their well-being, and if the defensive criticism is that outlet. I get it!!
