And Arabic, Lonely.  But while it's catchy to call these construction workers slaves and it makes us feel superior, real slaves are actually toiling on earth right now.

There are certainly bad actors in Qatar reneging on contracts, but the difference in the past fifteen years is that Qatar cracks down on them now. They and their neighbors turned a blind eye before (sound familiar?). I've organized charter flights for officials to make good on such actors' broken promises.

I've also been invited to Hyderabad, where many of these guys come from.  Trust me or not, they're earning overseas for a reason.
