I disagree w/ lots of his views but the guy is a serial entrepreneur & self-made
Got into Stanford PhD program and dropped out to found several, progressively larger companies and netted a lot from each one.
His dad was an engineer who had some shares in a mine. His single/divorced mother worked multiple jobs to make ends meet for her 3 kids.
