Yep.The officials are supposed to wait until the chains get there, but usually only wait until the down marker is there.
Most of the time the chains are playing catch up. Some crews don't even give the down marker a chance to get the spot.
Last night's crew clearly didn't care about the rules, just keeping Stanford in the game.
