Yeah, GSP and Vizsla are very similar
I'd put the Vizsla slightly above for a newbie (a little smaller, a little less intense energy/exercise-wise), but they're both great great dogs, whether for new or experienced dogs owners.

Yeah, not sure I'd recommend a Ridgeback for someone as a first-time dog (esp if they have kids). Go Vizsla
