Don’t get me wrong, it’s a fair question.
Kyle has had his own deficiencies, but I’ve never seen his program appear soft and disorganized, and the floor hasn’t dropped out from underneath the Utes on multiple occasions.
I’m wondering if some of Kyle’s approach just wouldn’t fly at BYU. Perhaps it was Whittingham’s strong hand and imprint on the program that gave Kalani license to do things at Utah that didn’t translate to BYU. Maybe Kalani simply had his own ideas that he was set on implementing that crashed and burned.
BYU may have more self-imposed limitations than any other school that attempts to compete in major college sports. Takes a special person and coach to thrive consistently in our environment.
