to fall before he has had a fair chance? What indication do we have that things will improve under Pope? What changes can he make?
I'm not saying we need to move on from him, but I think these are legitimate questions we should be asking. BYU Men's Basketball is in trouble. We saw it last season as everything fell apart and this season is all over the place.
Compare the Men's Basketball program to the Basketball program. They got a new coach, who was unproven, only HS experience and the first few games were VERY rough. Since then they have signed some impressive recruits, improved their game and shown progress. There are seeds of potential and improvement from the start of the season. With the changes (losing Shalee, others graduating) , this was an expected rebuild year... And it looks like it. It is easy to see the "building."
What do we see building in the Men's Basketball team? The Men's Basketball team should be better relative to their peers, but are under performing for a second year, while the Basketball team, that has all the excuses in the world, is the one performing as expected if not better.
I hope Pope can figure it out and get things back on track...but there are serious questions to ask. What indications do we have that he can turn things around? What evidence do we have that things will be better?
