Nope. Govt requires everyone to have immediate access to any lab/scan.
So basically, Doc orders test. Test comes back. Results posted online. Patient freaks out 30 minutes later because they don't understand it. They call in to get an explanation. They can't get through because of crappy call system the hospital has. The patient gets angry. They call back 4 more times. They then go into the ER. ER has to assure them everything is okay. Original doctor finishes his procedures for the day and calls the result back to the patient who is still in the ER. Patient now fills a complaint with the hospital that "no one called with their result." They also decide to inform everyone on the internet via their google review of how awful a person that doctor is.

So another rule/requirement that in theory sounds so great (I mean why shouldn't the patient have immediate access to their test results??) made by people who have no clue and more importantly, don't have to deal with the consequences of their decisions.
