spring game. Brewer's spring game was a complete and total joke. On play after play after play D-linemen were in his face to only then stop and stand like statues while Brewer would then run around for several more seconds until finally releasing the ball. If Slovis receives the special needs treatment in the spring game, then we'll know something's up.
Truthfully, I don't know what kind of promises were made to Brewer by KWhitt, or if KWhitt had something against Rising, or what it was, but it simply wasn't possible that Brewer had outplayed Rising for the job in camp. Brewer was a head case, and it was obvious to anybody watching him play at Baylor the year before he transferred to Utah, it was obvious in everything he did at Utah, and it remained obvious when he transferred to Liberty.
As for Slovis, he's looked good so far. According to the stats guys, his throws were generally on target but they weren't caught, meaning his struggles were more WR based last season than his own issues. I don't think we have a Rising behind him, so the hope is that Slovis pans out like he seems to be doing.
